This drone helicopter is designed to bomb forest fires from the air

One of the undoubted advantages of drones is the ability to fly and work in high-risk areas, thereby saving people from unnecessary risk. This is the mission of the JC260 drone helicopter designed to extinguish forest fires.

The developer of the firefighting drone is the Chinese company QilingUAV. The JC260 is equipped with two special bombs filled with flame-extinguishing liquid. They can be dropped one at a time or together. Each of the bombs, when bursting, covers an area engulfed in flames with a volume of up to 50 cubic meters.

The drone's flight is provided by two coaxial propellers with a diameter of 3.6 meters, powered by two 34-horsepower water-cooled gasoline engines, which allow the drone to reach speeds of up to 100 km / h. One tank of gasoline is enough for 3-4 hours of flight. JC260 length - 2, 8 m, weight - 260 kg, including bombs.

The drone is equipped with on-board video cameras and is controlled by a ground operator in real time. In order to drop the bombs, one press of a button on the control panel is enough.
