Isis Schiffer, a student at the Pratt Institute (New York), the future industrial designer, was awarded the main James Dyson Prize - $ 3, 500 for the invention of the EcoHelmet disposable helmet for cyclists.
The helmet turned out to be so compact that in the future it will be possible to sell it through special machines. It is made of waterproof recycled paper, so it can be used even in inclement, rainy weather.
The special folding design of EcoHelmet, although not new (such folding toy balls were sold in the Soviet Union), is still very effective. Its radial honeycomb structure gives it a high impact resistance, similar to other materials used in the manufacture of protective helmets.
The helmet can be used primarily by students who rent bicycles.
