One of the richest men in Russia, businessman and billionaire Andrei Melnichenko, is close to completing his ambitious project - an ultra-modern sailing yacht that cost him 400 million euros.
The sea vessel is striking in its size. The length of the yacht is 143 meters, and three masts exceed the height of the famous London Big Ben - more than 100 meters, weight - 14224 tons, crew of 54 people. In the development of the superyacht, the developments of Melnichenko's first project were used - motor yacht A, whose hull was in the shape of a knife.
Eight-deck yacht A was equipped with a keel made of a huge one piece of curved glass measuring about 18 sq. meters and weighing 1, 8 tons. Special glass was also used to make a transparent bottom so that you can admire the underwater scenery.
The first ship tests are scheduled for the end of this year. Only one mast will be tested in them. The role of the yacht designer has been entrusted to Philippe Starck, who took part in the previous project.
It is also known that the ship has an electronic control system, which is represented by a sheet of black glass with touch switches. With its help, it will be possible, for example, to raise the sails and drop the anchor with one flick of your finger.
