Good Housekeeping experts from the UK shared the right way to wash jeans.
ALWAYS TURN YOUR JEANS INSIDE
This will prevent washed-out white streaks and faded creases from appearing on the blue fabric. No, they, sooner or later, will still arise if you wear them and do not store them in a closet. But this will happen much later.
ALWAYS WASH WITHOUT ADDING AIR CONDITIONING
Surprise? And the explanation is very simple: the more you soften the fabric of jeans, the faster they wear out.
ALWAYS ERASE ON THE MOST GENTLE MODE
At minimum temperature and at rpm for delicate fabrics. But jeans are not delicate fabrics, you ask? If jeans are your work clothes for paving, then yes. But the overwhelming majority of people do not wear jeans to dig gold, but wear them as fashionable clothes. Therefore - delicate treatment.
By the way, those very first jeans that Levi Straus sewed for gold diggers were made of such a rough canvas that you would never recognize jeans in them.
DO NOT PUT TOO MUCH IN THE WASHING MACHINE
The tighter you fill the drum of the washing machine, the more creases will be on the jeans.
DO NOT USE AUTOMATIC DRYING
Only dry your jeans naturally after a gentle spin. This will preserve the strength of the fabric and they will not rub in you where they should not.
DO NOT PANIC
Shedding is normal for jeans. Indigo dye will color the wash water throughout the life of your pants. This is normal, correct, good and healthy. But linen, for the same reason, is definitely not worth washing with jeans. A blue bra to match the color of jeans, this is not the set you are dreaming about.
