Why black and white pandas?

Thanks to its memorable black and white color, large pandas have become, perhaps the most famous bears around the world. And for a long time, experts could not understand why this animal need a combination of so different from each other's colors? A similar color among other animals is extremely rare, so its evolutionary destination was clearly understood.

But now a group of scientists from the California Institute is ready to answer that pandas have black and white color for successful disguise both in the shade of trees and in the snow.

This is interesting: Panda color would not be correctly called black and white, but white-black: after all, white wool on their body is much more.

When conducting research, the specialists compared the painting of Panda with the color of the other 195 terrestrial mammals (including 39 subspecies of bears) and came to the conclusion that the absolute majority of their painting is needed exclusively for masking on their habitat. For Panda, which live in mountain forests, bordering snow areas, white-black coloring is the most successful solution.

Now it is this version that is a priority on the question of pandas, sweating such assumptions as insect protection, heat exchange adjustment or communications with each other.
