But scientists believe that after a few decades of years, earthly technologies can achieve a sufficient level to accomplish intended. In the project called Genesis ", developed by the team of specialists from the University of Frankfurt. Johanna Wolfgang Goethe, it is not about relocation to other planets of people or animals. The main actors will be the simplest microorganisms.
Since the late 1980s, humanity has entered the search era of the so-called exoplanet. Excloth is a planet, rotating around a star that is not the sun. In other words, these are planets underlying the solar system, but having their own star. The search for such space bodies is associated with great difficulties: if a bright star is visible for millions of light years, the planet rotating around it can be detected only by a temporary change in the brightness of the star itself due to the imposition of the planet silhouette or the gravitational effects of the planet on other space bodies in Star System. Super suspensive technique that can cope with such a task appeared only recently, so it is not surprising that by 2016 the existence of only 3517 exoplanet from billions of potential was reliably confirmed. But this number of scientists is enough to build ambitious plans.
It is possible to judge the characteristics of the exoplanets only indirectly, based on its removal from the star and changing the star brightness curve (so you can determine the magnitude of the planet). Of course, there is a possibility that among the planets found there are those where conditions are suitable for the spread of life. It is on such exoplates and imposes hope "Genesis". The project proposes to send to the most promising planets of the fleet of small autonomous spacecraft with genetic laboratories capable of reproducing earth microorganisms. Each ship must be equipped with a braking system to successfully log in to the low orbit of the planet.
A ship is planned to be accessed from the ground. One of the most promising options is the use of light sail, to which a powerful light ray with several laser installations will be directed from the ground. This project is named Breakthrough StartShot, and scientists engaged in the work of parts, argue that with the help of the energy of the earth lasers, the miniature spacecraft weighing in several grams can be overclocked in a few minutes to over 20% of the light speed. At the moment, the Breakthrough Startshot is needed to significantly improve some of the technologies, but after a few decades the technical capabilities should already be at the proper level.
Winged up to 60, 000 km / with miniature ships after 20 years will be able to achieve, for example, the galaxies of Alpha Centauro and begin to study the "local" exoplanet. If the artificial intelligence of the ship determines that the planet is suitable for the spread of life, the creation of microorganisms will begin in the onboard genetic laboratory. Hundreds of ships located in orbit will start literally bombarding the planet with microorganisms, which will gradually be saturated with its oxygen. Over the decades of such bombardment, the planet will have to form its own ethospe. In the end, after the exhaustion of its own resources, the devices will fall on Earth and create large foci of spreading microorganisms. Thus, for a relatively short term period, the period can be populated with planet with earth microorganisms. Next, life on the exoplanet will develop independently, gradually evolving.
The problems with which in the implementation of the project "Genesis" will have to face science, are obvious. Firstly, this is a miniature of the ship, which should weigh no more than a dozen gram, but at the same time to accommodate an atomic reactor, an advanced system of artificial intelligence, a system of communication with the ground, a genetic laboratory, a brake engine for entry into orbit and, of course, accelerated The system in the form of a light sail. In addition, to implement such a flight, it is necessary to develop lighter and several times more durable materials that can withstand collisions with cosmic dust at 60, 000 km / s. And, of course, one of the most important problems will be the allocation of funds for the project. To dispersed only one miniature spacecraft with the help of lasers installed on Earth, it will take a huge amount of energy, which will be able to provide, for example, 100 simultaneously working nuclear power plants.
Of course, progress does not stand still, and after a few decades, the emerging technical problems can be solved. Perhaps the next generation of people will begin the creation of planets suitable planets for dozens of light years from the solar system.
