Scientists have reached a record efficiency of solar panels - 34.5%

Solar energy successfully develops in many countries, and the newest solar panels have become a real salvation for many countries of countries with a large number of sunny days a year. The new invention of two Australian scientists brand Kievers and Martin Green promises to make the solar energy even more efficient.

At its presentation, scientists told about the new type of solar panels. The principle of its action is as follows: Sunlight falling on the prism is divided into spectra, which are then directed to four plates with an area of ​​28 cm 2. Each plate is made of various material: Germany, Gallium-India arsenide, Gallium-India and silicon phosphide. Each of them "works" with its part of the spectrum, which increases the efficiency of the solar battery to 34, 5%. The previous record was 24%, and it was reached with a larger area of ​​plates - 56 cm 2.

This invention is a real breakthrough in the field of solar energy. Previously, it was predicted that the efficiency of solar cells at 34, 5% at the current pace of development of technology can be achieved only by 2050.

The new type of solar panel is compact enough and works on the usual sunlight, so they can be installed on the roofs of residential buildings.

This is interesting: It is safe to say that new technologies in the future will only increase the efficiency of solar cells, but it is unlikely to ever exceed 53%. According to experts, this value is the maximum for such a design.
