California to build a gay city called Boom

About a dozen architectural firms are working on projects for a gay city, which is planned to be built near Palm Springs, in the desert.

The area of ​​the future Boom town will be about 40 hectares. It will have eight districts, about 300 residential buildings, shops, entertainment centers and nightclubs. The developers plan to start construction this year.

The media note that settlement projects for different social groups are becoming more and more popular in the world. So, in the vicinity of Tokyo, a city for elderly Japanese is already being built, and a sports "city of women" will be built in the Swedish city of Malmo. The project represents a whole ecosystem of urban life.

The first phase of a gay project in California is estimated at $ 250 million. The first residents will move into the town in 2014.
